Puppy Refuses To Leave Cardboard Box In Which Her Owner Has Left Her

“She was just waiting for someone to come back.”

Harvest was only 10 months old when she was abandoned in a residential area in a cardboard box. She remained faithfully in the box overnight till a Good Samaritan discovered her the next day.

The mother was surprised to see Harvest sitting in the box without food or drink on a scorching summer day. But, even in the 104-degree heat, the dog never strayed.

“She never moved from the crate,” Dallas Dog president Patti Dawson told The Dodo. “She was only waiting for someone to return.”

Harvest astounded animal control authorities by remaining in the crate the whole journey to the shelter. They put the dog and her crate in a kennel, assuming she was paralyzed.

Harvest ultimately climbed out of the box, and volunteers at the shelter decided to leave it with her.

Dawson explained, “They left the box in her kennel because it was her security.”

Harvest cowered in the corner of her kennel throughout the first several days at the shelter. “You could see her shoulders and torso shaking from terror,” Dawson explained.

Harvest, on the other hand, was adored by everyone who encountered her. Despite her fear, she had a pleasant attitude, and she gradually began to develop.

Harvest was taken in by Dallas Dog two weeks after her rescue and immediately placed in a loving foster home. Harvest’s genuine nature emerged very immediately in her new home.

Harvest is now full of energy, according to her foster mom, and she enjoys racing around with her foster siblings. Harvest enjoys cuddling on the couch and watching TV with her family when she is feeling down.

“It took her about a week before she truly opened up,” Dawson recalled, “and she hasn’t slowed down or looked back since.”

Harvest is now being found the ideal forever family by Dallas Dog, which is moving much faster than normal. “She’s one of those dogs,” Dawson explained. “This week she has three meet and greets.”

In the meanwhile, Harvest will continue to drink up the particular affection she receives from her foster family, never having to step foot in a cardboard box again.
