Thanks to the chilly temperature and Swoboda’s strategic use of backlighting from the morning sun, she managed to capture this extraordinary phenomenon in a series of stunning photographs. In fact, one of these images earned Swoboda the grand prize at this year’s Audubon Photography Awards.
