This is how bravery seems.
Do not refer to this bird as a “chicken.”
The moment a hawk came outside a farm’s chicken coop in quest of an easy meal — and got anything but that — has been captured on film. Despite the fact that the chicken run area is fenced off, the bird of prey managed to get in via a small gap and set his eyes on one unsuspecting hen within.
But, just when everything seemed to be going wrong for the hen, a feathered hero appeared and rescued the day:
The valiant father of the flock managed to defend his mate — and send the unwanted guest fleeing in a heartbeat — with a few kicks and pecks.
And the hens’ owner, who posted the footage on YouTube last month, couldn’t be more pleased with him, writing:
“Today, my rooster completed his duty by defending the hens from a hawk that snuck through a hole in my fence, which has since been repaired.”
