Please Do Not Approach Wild Bison In Yellowstone National Park

The second person in three days has now been attacked by a wild bison at the park

Wild bison are enormous creatures. Wild bison are known to be hostile. As a result, Wild Bison should never be approached. There, we said it, and Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming has said it… many times.

There is also a guideline in the Park regarding it: keep at least 23 meters (75 feet) away from them. These majestic creatures are incredibly territorial and violent; they can weigh up to 907 kilograms (2,000 pounds) and travel at speeds of up to 56 kilometers per hour (35 miles per hour), so you don’t want them rushing anywhere near you.

Despite these warnings, the National Park Service reports that another individual has been assaulted by these monsters. A 71-year-old lady was brought to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. This incident occurred when the woman approached the animal on her way back to her car, causing the animal to charge.

This is not the first such incident; only three days earlier, a 34-year-old guy from Pennsylvania was attacked. He and his family chose to stroll along a boardwalk near the park’s famous Old Faithful geyser.

The man can be seen on video moving a youngster out of the way of the bull bison before being catapulted up into the air. He was afterwards transported to the hospital to be treated for an arm injury.

This was not even the first episode of the year with the man. A 25-year-old lady from Ohio was also attacked at the end of May. She was thrown 10 feet (3 meters) into the air while hiking in the park.

So, please, please, please do not meddle with, approach, or get close these creatures like this NBC reporter.
